Director of Software Engineering

Our client is a leading retail firm with a strong presence across multiple channels. They are focused on digital transformation and investing in e-commerce technology to deliver seamless, customer-centric experiences.

• Define and lead the engineering strategy and roadmap for back-office platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
• Oversee the design, development, and integration of enterprise systems supporting Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other corporate functions
• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines
• Drive modernization of legacy systems to cloud-native, API-first, and microservices-based architectures
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions
• Oversee system integration with ERP, CRM, analytics, and other enterprise applications, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility
• Lead and mentor engineering teams across development, architecture, QA, and DevOps
• Implement Agile and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring frameworks
• Manage vendor and technology partner relationships to deliver cost-effective and scalable solutions
• Oversee budgets, resources, and compliance with IT governance, security, and regulatory standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles managing enterprise-scale platforms.
• Strong background in enterprise software architecture, system integration, and back-office applications (ERP, HRIS, Finance, Supply Chain).
• Proven experience in leading large-scale software development projects, from requirements to deployment.
• Hands-on expertise with modern development stacks, APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep knowledge of Agile/DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with data security, compliance frameworks, and governance practices.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing vendors and outsourced development teams in a hybrid delivery model.
• Background in retail, consumer goods, or large-scale enterprise operations preferred.
