Our client is a leading company in Telecommunication Engineering Solutions - are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer to support the deployment and optimization of advanced test and measurement solutions for high-volume manufacturing environments. This role focuses on optical transceivers, RF/microwave, and high-speed digital applications. You will work closely with manufacturing, process, and R&D teams to develop and scale efficient, reliable, and cost-effective test strategies—ensuring smooth New Product Introduction (NPI) and long-term production success. This position also serves as a key technical advisor, aligning customer needs with innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement in test performance and quality.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert supporting customers in the optical transceiver industry (400G, 800G, 1.6T), high-speed digital technologies (PAM4, NRZ, PCIe, Ethernet), and RF/microwave components (RFICs, filters, duplexers, amplifiers, mixers, etc.).
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including project management for complex solution delivery.
- Collaborate with customers to customize and integrate test solutions into production environments, ensuring seamless deployment.
- Support customers throughout the full product lifecycle, from NPI (New Product Introduction) to manufacturing ramp-up and high-volume production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve yield, performance, and measurement accuracy issues in mass production environments.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and best practices for factory use.
- Deliver training and technical support for factory operators, technicians, and manufacturing engineers.
- Develop application notes, test scripts, and best-practice guides tailored to customer needs and specific use cases.
- Ensure all test methodologies comply with industry standards (e.g. IEEE, OIF, PCI-SIG, CEI).
- Collaborate with product management and R&D teams to provide customer feedback and influence future product enhancements.
- Act as a technical advocate, helping customers maximize the value of test and measurement solutions while improving time-to-market and cost-of-test efficiency.
- Partner with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and define appropriate solution strategies.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the optical communication and electronics manufacturing industry, especially within the Thailand market.
Experience requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering, or related technical field
- 5–8+ years of experience in test and measurement, manufacturing or applications engineering, for optical transceivers, high-speed digital, or RF semiconductor devices.
- Solid hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment (DCA’s, High Speed Oscilloscopes both real time and sampling, BERTs, optical power meters, VNAs, AWGs, optical spectrum analyzers, etc.).
- Experience with optical transceiver manufacturing (QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP2, etc.).
- Experience with manufacturing automation systems (e.g., MES, SPC) and exposure to DOE, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience in a test and measurement company or working directly with T&M instrumentation vendors.
- Understanding of RF/microwave design and measurement (S-parameters, TDR/TDT, impedance matching)
- Knowledge of high-speed digital signaling (PAM4/NRZ), optical modulation formats, and eye diagram/BER analysis.
- Knowledge of Ethernet/PCIe standards and compliance testing.
- Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly
- Programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C/C++) are a plus, especially for automation and custom test development.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites (domestic and international) as required
