Our client is a global logistics services provider operating in Thailand, managing complex international airfreight flows and driving strategic growth across the region. They are now seeking a Head of Air Freight to lead the country’s airfreight product, enhance commercial performance, and ensure operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
About the Role
Lead full Airfreight P&L management for the country, including budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring, and alignment with global and regional strategy. Drive the execution of the Airfreight strategy, collaborate closely with the Country MD and leadership team, and represent the product internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Oversee nationwide Airfreight operations, ensuring productivity, service quality, compliance, process optimization, and adherence to global standards and certifications.
- Lead and develop Airfreight teams across branches, including talent development, succession planning, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Drive Airfreight growth by steering trade-lane targets, supporting sales in customer acquisition and retention, developing cross-selling opportunities, and providing pricing guidance.
- Manage subcontractor and carrier relationships, oversee procurement activities, capacity planning, RFQs, rate management, and execution of global carrier strategy.
- Ensure accurate billing, cost control, risk management, SOP implementation for new business, and timely updates in rate and operational systems.
- Monitor market trends, operational risks, and cargo flow insights to develop new revenue opportunities and continuously improve business performance.
Experience requirements
- Strong Airfreight industry expertise, including operations, procurement, capacity planning, and product management.
- Proven P&L management skills with solid business, financial, and commercial acumen.
- Experience leading teams in a matrix environment with strong people development and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Strong understanding of customer, supplier, and market dynamics, including local regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and operational excellence frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate across functions, influence stakeholders, and execute global and regional strategies effectively.
- Familiarity with industry certifications and compliance standards (e.g., Airfreight safety, GDP, CEIV).
